PHOTOGRAPHY BY KEITH KREEGER
In a world full of objects made for immediate and often disposable use, my ceramic work has been a place of refuge from mass production and mass consumption. I have long tried to bring a deliberate process to my ceramics studio, more interested in creating work that is lasting, rather than making something to fit within a world focused on the next trend.
I bring the same mentality to my photography, using the same part of my artistic mind. Instead of creating an object to signify what’s important, my photos are a new opportunity to share what I believe is important to celebrate in the world that we inhabit.
For years, my work in clay has brought me inside of the worlds that bring me joy, generosity, and learning. I am fortunate that my camera is now doing the same. I love being able to document the craftsmanship of a chef bringing their vision to the table and their community. It's a treat to make portraits of big moments, be it a senior portrait or behind the scenes at a large event. It is exciting challenge to capture the energy and shared joy of live music, or finding a millisecond of unimaginable athleticism and unrestrained emotions of a tennis match.
I am now available for bookings and collaborations in music, food, sports, events, and portrait photography in Austin and beyond.
I look forward to seeing what we can create together.
