About Keith Kreeger Studios
Get to know us...
Everything we make is hand-crafted in Austin, Texas, by Keith and our small team of ceramic artists. Our pieces are designed to be beautiful enough for any table, be it a restaurant or your kitchen counter, and durable enough for the rigors of everyday use. The clean lines and simple colors and patterns have been described as practical and pleasing—a true expression of form and function, whatever your style.
We split our time between making work for restaurants, made-to order dinnerware for discerning clients and making small-batch editions throughout the year. We make out work in order to connect generations through use.
How many pieces of art do you hold on a daily basis?
Our ceramic studio is located in the heart of Austin’s creative community, just around the corner from our showroom, and our team handcrafts each item, often going through more than 15 steps over a four week period for each piece. We use a variety of techniques from jiggering to hand-building, slip-casting and throwing. When we say made-to-order, we mean it.
"I think that a meal with friends that you’ve spent hours preparing calls for dinnerware crafted with the same care. I think flowers picked fresh from your garden look better in a vase you’ve picked as well.
I think you deserve to know the maker of the objects you use every day.”
-Keith Kreeger
"I make pots because I think the objects we use on a daily basis are as important as what they hold.”
Meet Keith
Besides being the proud owner of 32” paella pan, Keith is an artist, designer and maker. Hailing from the East Coast, Keith got to Austin as quickly as possibly with this wife and three children. Previously he had a studio and contemporary craft gallery on Cape Cod for 12 years.
Keith’s aesthetic comes from the singular idea that “objects matter,” and his work reflects that simple phrase, exemplifying clean, polished and modern design.
A past-president of the board of Big Medium, the arts nonprofit that produces the East Austin Studio Tour, West Austin Studio Tour and the Texas Biennial, Keith currently sits on the board of the Austin Food and Wine Alliance, the advisory board of Austin Bat Cave and is an active supporter and advocate for the Andy Roddick Foundation.
When he’s not behind the wheel, he can be found making strong espresso, epic playlists, hosting as many rad events in town as possible and driving his kids to their soccer games.
